MIRROR MIRROR: Anya Hindmarch is working with Peter Jones, the department store in London’s Sloane Square, on an installation in the atrium space. The installation, in the fabric hall on the ground floor, aims to create an immersive experience for customers.

The installation is a star-shaped structure decorated with graphic patterns and featuring an internal infinity mirror. It showcases some of Hindmarch’s spring handbags.

The inspiration for the project came from the designer’s spring catwalk set, which featured acrobatic dancers in a pyramid-shaped, neon-lit installation.

In the same collection, Hindmarch explored the themes of pattern and abstraction and even referenced the old John Lewis logo, created by Peter Hatch and Hans Schleger, which went on to inspire the project. Peter Jones is owned by the John Lewis department store group.

The installation will be in store until Tuesday. As part of the launch, Hindmarch was handed the keys to the department store for the night and hosted a private dinner — and sleepover — with friends.
