Memorial Service Set for Art Ortenberg

The service will be held May 28 at The Times Center at 242 West 41st Street in New York.

ART ORTENBERG MEMORIAL SET: A memorial service for Art Ortenberg, a founder and vice chairman of Liz Claiborne Inc., who became a wildlife conservation philanthropist, will be held May 28 at The Times Center at 242 West 41st Street in New York at 5 p.m. Ortenberg, 87, died Feb. 3 of complications from pneumonia and kidney failure.

Among those slated to speak are Dana Buchman; Alex Schultz, a blues and jazz guitarist who is Liz Claiborne’s son; Cathy Horyn, former chief fashion critic of the New York Times and Ortenberg’s companion; George Schaller, a world-renowned field biologist and author, and David Western, chairman of the African Conservation Center in Nairobi, Kenya, and chairman of the advisory board of the Liz Claiborne and Art Ortenberg Foundation.
