ART PARTY: The American Friends of the Israel Museum held its annual dinner at Cipriani on 42nd Street in New York Monday night. The 450 guests were greeted by a violin quartet and an eye-catching David Stark-designed ribbon sculpture of the word “Next” that was suspended from the ceiling. The event, which raised nearly $2.4 million, highlighted contemporary art from the Jerusalem-based Israel Museum and signaled the continuation of a goal, namely to enhance specific areas of the museum’s collection.
Partygoers included Josh Bernstein and Lily Snyder, Charles Bronfman, Stacey Bronfman, Toshiko Mori and James Carpenter, Dori Cooperman, Anne and Jerome Fisher, Frieda and Roy Furman, Milly and Arne Glimcher, Ronnie Heyman, Stephen and Wendy Lash, Glorya and Fred Leighton, Ninah and Michael Lynne, Linda and Harry Macklowe, Madge and Martin Miller, James and Tina Snyder and Judy and Michael Steinhardt.
