SILVER SCREENS: Asprey has begun selling its high-end wares online. Asprey.com offers merchandise ranging from diamond engagement rings to crocodile handbags to silver baubles and gifts, and the company ships orders globally. There are also areas of the site devoted to the 230-year-old company’s heritage, such as images of craftsmen making jewelry, silver and leather at the in-house workshops above the Bond Street store.

The site’s launch follows the appointment of Mike Burnett, formerly of Smythson, as e-commerce director for Asprey in July. Paddy Byng, managing director of Asprey, said: “This is an exciting move for Asprey into the digital arena. We wanted to have a fully transactional site running ahead of Christmas to respond to the gifting needs of our customers. Next year will see us invest in growing the digital platform further.”
