Giorgio Armani had a powerful front row at his Emporio Armani show Thursday – athletically speaking. The lineup included Olympic swimmers Federica Pellegrini, who is the face of Armani’s EA7 activewear line, and boyfriend Luca Marin, who were joined by karate champ Stefano Maniscalco.
“Being at fashion shows brings attention to sports that are lesser known to the public,” reasoned Marin. Added Maniscalco, “Athletes also contribute to the image of fashion, as paragons of physical achievement.”
Also at the show was Japanese actress and singer Meisa Kuroki, who is to make her big-screen debut as the lead in producer Bill Kong’s “Subaru” a film about a gifted ballerina – which debuts in Japan on March 20. Kuroki said she will start work shortly on a new play in Japan based on Shakespeare’s “The Two Gentleman Of Verona,” and will launch her debut album “Hell Cat” in April. “Please check me out on Youtube,” she urged.
