WATCH CELEBRATION: Last Thursday, Swiss watchmaker Audemars Piguet celebrated the exclusive launch of the brand’s new Royal Oak Offshore 42mm collection at the Centro Cultural Estacion Indianilla, Mexico D.F., for the first time. Three hundred guests previewed 80 pieces including novelties, unique museum pieces and current collection models.
“We hope that all the high-end watchmaking aficionados will appreciate these new pieces that will undoubtedly become the novelties of this year,” said Xavier Nolot, the company’s chief executive officer.
The brand—which has been around since 1875—decided to launch the collection with music in mind, and feted the night with the guest of honor, Alejandro Fernandez, the Mexican artist and singer. “I am a person who values time because all good things come in time; they require effort and dedication,” he said. “Having to be organized to balance my career with my personal life I have become a fanatic of watches and timekeeping.”
