BAGGED LUNCH: Nanette Lepore and Carlos Falchi were honored Thursday at the Madison Square Boys & Girls Club’s annual Purses & Pursenalities Luncheon at Cipriani 42nd Street in Manhattan. Before the lunch kicked off, guests used smartphones to bid silently on bags from the likes of Salvatore Ferragamo, Prada, Tory Burch, Coach, Tiffany, Fairchild Baldwin and Michael Kors. While the luncheon draws a crowd of socially minded New Yorkers, the focus of the gathering is on the charity, said design chairman Eric Javits.

“It’s a great cause,” said Lepore, while motioning to Falchi, who posed for photos nearby. Both designers stressed they produce their collections in Manhattan. “I love Carlos. He’s been doing manufacturing in New York for so long. I find some of his vintage bags on the market and I love them,” she said.

“I feel very honored,” Falchi said before echoing the importance of locally made product. “Business is hard but what better place to be on top of it than right here?”
