BOOKWORMS: Barneys New York hosted a joint book signing for Simon Doonan and Leandra Medine Tuesday night at The Grove. “I lived in Los Angeles for eight years in the Seventies and Eighties, before it was all groovy,” said the author of “The Asylum: A Collage of Couture Reminiscences…and Hysteria.” “I like to drive around and see what’s still here, like the old May Company building on Wilshire Boulevard. Now L.A. has things like a train at the mall,” he said, referring to The Grove trolley. Medine mused about keeping a part-time residence in L.A. because she likes it so much. Meanwhile, an extra-long line of fans waited patiently for her to sign their copies of “Man Repeller: Seeking Love. Finding Overalls.”
