CALIFORNIA DREAMING: The Louis Vuitton cruise show last night was the primary entrée on Bernard Arnault’s West Coast agenda this week, but not the only entrée. The chairman and chief executive officer of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton and his son Alexandre scheduled a larger trip around the Palm Springs show. They started in Las Vegas and were set to hit San Francisco today.
The trip, Arnault said, had no single purpose. “We visit with my teams; it’s a lot of different things,” he said. “My son is very involved in the Internet. He knows a lot of companies in the digital sphere.”
So might an acquisition be in the air? “We discuss, we look,” Arnault acknowledged. “[This area] is so full of ideas, so dynamic compared to Europe.” Stay tuned.
