MACY’S MAKEOVER: Bobbi Brown and Terry Lundgren, chief executive officer of Macy’s, unveiled the newly renovated Bobbi Brown counter at a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday morning at Macy’s Herald Square. “Bobbi is a special part of our company,” said Lundgren. “She’s one of the true names attached to a cosmetic brand where there’s a living personality to represent the brand. She’s done every famous person’s makeup, every movie star, every model and now she’s doing my makeup.”
With a space that is now 25 percent larger than its predecessor, the counter is positioned in the center of the single most trafficked location by pedestrians in North America at 34th Street and 7th Avenue.
Tapping into the flood of New Yorkers and tourists, Brown even has her own door, which also serves as the memorial entrance honoring former Macy’s co-owner Isidor Straus and his wife.
“The goal of the counter is to be number one and make everyone look beautiful and for the team to have a really great business,” said Brown. “Hopefully there will be a Bobbi float at the Macy’s Day Parade. A big lipstick balloon or something.”
