BOITANO’S MOVE: Joseph Boitano, group senior vice president and general merchandise manager of Saks Fifth Avenue, is leaving the company on Jan. 31. He is responsible for the designer and contemporary businesses. “I made the decision after 14 great years. I’m going to take some time off and pursue some additional ideas,” Boitano said, adding, “I would like to stay in the industry.”
Boitano joined Saks in 1999. He said his decision to leave Saks had “not a thing” to do with the company’s new management. Marigay McKee, who was chief merchant at Harrods, in December became president of Saks, which was acquired by Hudson’s Bay Co. “I had a great career [at Saks],” Boitano said. “I’ve worked with wonderful people.”
