BRAD GORESKI’S NEW GIG: Brad Goreski has come a long way since his days on “The Rachel Zoe Project.”
The stylist, whose own reality show, “It’s a Brad Brad World,” debuts on Bravo on Monday, has been named Kate Spade New York’s exclusive brand stylist. As part of the two-year deal, Goreski — in addition to elevating brand awareness surrounding the company’s growing ready-to-wear category — will work with Kate Spade creative director Deborah Lloyd to style press events, fashion presentations, ad campaigns and e-commerce shoots.
“The brand is known for its accessories, and their ready-to-wear is fairly new and [it’s] Deb’s baby,” Goreski told WWD last week as he was about to board a plane for his Christmas vacation. “We see so many people carrying the bags and the accessories. It’s my hope to get the ready-to-wear out there and see it more on the streets and see people playing with it and making it their own.”
Goreski became acquainted with Lloyd in February when he styled Kate Spade’s fall presentation during New York Fashion Week — but it wasn’t until August that the two began working on forming a larger partnership. He said he wants to take the “Kate Spade girl to the next level,” while staying true to the company’s aesthetic of punchy patterns, vibrant colors and the overall “exuberance” of the brand. He hopes for the company’s product to be embraced on more of a mass level and see a higher level of engagement with customers.
“I have been a fan of Brad’s sense of style and spirit from afar for some time now. When I began to consider a stylist with whom I could really build an ongoing relationship and one whom I trusted, he was the first that came to mind. Besides being a great stylist, he is a joy to be around and a true gentleman. He keeps me laughing and keeps me on my toes,” Lloyd said.
Goreski, an avid Twitter user with more than 127,000 fans at his handle @mrbradgoreski, also intends to use his social media following to his advantage. “I’m a huge tweeter. I use it as my way to really interact with people, and part of my job will be collaborating [with Kate Spade] in all areas of social media to get people involved and more excited about the brand,” he said.
