STYLE SCHOLARSHIP: The British Fashion Council on Friday added a new scholarship to aid undergraduate students. The BFC, which has awarded M.A. scholarships since 1998, is extending it to B.A. design students.
In association with the BFC Education Foundation, this funding is open to final year students enrolled in a full-time B.A. Honors degree.
The BFC named the three students who have won scholarships for 2016. They are Cavan McPherson, a women’s wear student at Manchester School of Art, and Pip Paz-Howlett, a men’s wear student at University of Westminster. Jake Treddenick, a women’s wear student at London College of Fashion, was awarded a special prize.
Pieces from McPherson, Paz-Howlett and Treddenick will be showcased at the BFC Colleges Council Graduate preview day on May 13 at the Condé Nast College of Fashion & Design.
The BFC Education Foundation is a registered charity and the scholarship initiative is funded by Coach, Marks & Spencer, Mulberry, Natalie Massenet and Eiesha Bharti Pasricha. The scheme is also supported by the British government with its employer ownership funding program.
