BUILDING WITH BODEN: The British Fashion Council has teamed with Boden on a partnership that will support emerging British designers.

The “Future British” initiative will aid women’s, men’s and accessories designers to grow their businesses through mentoring, financial support and guidance in building their brands.

The BFC and the British brand will select the designers and, over a year, these brands will receive help and guidance in product development, brand identity, public relations and marketing.

They will also be awarded access and support from Boden’s team including chairman Johnnie Boden, chief executive officer Julian Granville, product director Matthew Hilgeman and global brand director Penny Herriman.

In addition, the BFC will provide help through the BFC Fashion Business Network and designers will receive support with business development and mentoring.

“Future British is an exciting collaboration between Boden and the BFC, highlighting young, product-driven designers to a new audience,” said British Fashion Council chief executive officer Caroline Rush. “Utilizing the resources and infrastructure of Boden, Future British aims to help young talent create great product at a good price point to establish viable business models, and ultimately, successful brands.”
