FASHION ACCOLADES: The British Fashion Council has named the 10 categories, including a few new ones, of its annual Fashion Awards to be held at the Royal Albert Hall on Dec. 5.

The annual event, held in association with Swarovski, honors companies and designers in the industry. This year’s awards night will also be the inaugural annual fundraiser for the British Fashion Council Education Foundation charity. The charity is in aid of fashion students who are studying for BA and MA degrees at U.K. universities.

Four new categories have been added this year: Business Leader, Urban Luxury, Creative Influencer and Swarovski Award for Positive Change.

The other awards include British women’s wear designer; British men’s wear designer, British brand and emerging talent. Awards open to British and international names include model, ready-to-wear and accessories designer of the year; urban luxury, fashion icon, creative influencer and business leader.

Voting goes live today at 1:00 p.m. CET. An international panel of 1,500 industry members will vote on most of the awards. The fashion icon award will be chosen by members of the public.

There will also be special recognition awards for outstanding achievement; the Isabella Blow Award for fashion creator, a special recognition award and the Swarovski Award for positive change. The special recognition awards will be announced ahead of the evening.
