BURCH’S BELTWAY AFFINITY: Tory Burch, whose first Washington-area signature store bowed in Tysons Galleria in McLean, Va., in late May, has always had a close affinity to the nation’s capital, which could lead to at least one more store in Georgetown, the fashion designer and chief executive officer of her namesake company said at a charity event at her store Thursday night.
“I have spent a lot of time here and gotten to really love D.C. It has everything — politics, art and fashion,” Burch said at the event, which benefited the Rebecca Project, a human rights organization advocating for effective treatment options and policies for women and girls impacted by violence. While she noted that “nothing is in the works yet” for a store in Georgetown, Burch shared her vision of someday opening an accessories-only location there.

She was also enthused about making her first footprint in the Middle East with a store in Dubai that bowed last week and a new shop slated to open in Beirut next June, and plans to visit both next summer. Burch said there are plans to add 18 stores in 2012 to her stable of 60 freestanding Tory Burch boutiques across the U.S., Europe and Asia.
