Carrefour CEO Among French Honors List

Georges Plassat was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor in the Bastille Day list.

THE NEW LEGION: Georges Plassat, chief executive officer of French retailer Carrefour SA, was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor on Sunday, Bastille Day.

Françoise Montenay, president of the supervisory board of Chanel SAS, was declared an Officer of the Legion of Honor, France’s highest civilian decoration, in the annual list. Edmonde Charles-Roux, author of a biography of Coco Chanel, was made a Grand Officer of the Legion of Honor.

Photographer Bettina Rheims and Rose Torrente-Mett, the former president and artistic director of couture house Torrente, were both declared a Commander of the Legion of Honor, while Jean-Claude Colban, director of Parisian shirtmaker Charvet, was also made a Knight of the Legion of Honor.
