CHAN LUU, HELLO KITTY LINK: Los Angeles-based jewelry designer Chan Luu has teamed with Sanrio for a Hello Kitty collection to celebrate the brand’s 40th anniversary. Combining the earthy, organic style of Luu’s accessories with the hyper-cuteness of the cartoon character, the collection features a pastel palette and feminine accents such as Swarovski crystals, lace, semi-precious stones and sterling silver charms. “Hello Kitty has a uniquely broad fan base with universal appeal,” Luu said. “I infused her into my signature pieces to create a collection that is sophisticated and high-end and can be worn by women of all ages.” “We are continually looking for interesting ways for fans to incorporate Hello Kitty into their lifestyle,” said Sanrio’s senior vice president Jill Koch. “With each piece specially handmade, the collaboration offers an elevated jewelry collection for our fans.” Wholesale prices range from $32 for a single bracelet to $85 for a semiprecious five-wrap bracelet, and pieces will be available in select retailers as well as on both companies’ e-commerce sites beginning in August.
