CHANGES AT CUT25: Rumors were swirling that Yigal Azrouël would shutter his lower-priced Cut25 collection. A spokeswoman for the brand said Friday that the label is not closing, but would be repositioned, with details to come at a later date.
The line launched five years ago into what has become a very challenged contemporary market, where fast fashion players have scooped up share with trendy looks. The Cut25 brand is set at lower price points than the designer’s main line, but still not as low as Zara or H&M. On the company’s Web site, Cut25 goods ranged from $63 for a matte jersey pleated top (the look was initially priced at $250) and $495 for a white diagonal drape jumpsuit.
Azrouël will show his main fall collection on Sunday.
