CHAUMET’S TRILOGY: Chaumet has been shining a spotlight on its storied history recently through rotating themed shows at its new exhibition space on Place Vendôme in Paris. Now the jeweler and watchmaker is the subject of a three-volume set published by Assouline as part of its Mémoire series.
The first volume, “Vendôme, Birthplace of a Legend,” focuses on the history of the house, the first to establish headquarters on the Paris square in 1812. The second volume, “The Art of the Tiara,” takes a closer look at the jewelry item that became synonymous with Chaumet and its close relationship with Empress Joséphine in the early 19th century.
The third volume, “The Nature of Chaumet,” focuses on the influence of flora and fauna on its creations. Featuring texts by Alexis Gregory, Vivienne Becker and Fabienne Reybaud, the boxed set will be available on July 4, priced at $75.
