PRETTY IN PINK: Whoever said women have no place in motor sports have yet to lay eyes on Chopard’s pink Mille Miglia racing watch. This is the first time the fine jewelry company created a feminine version of the once men’s-only timepiece, and its launch coincides with the kick-off of the annual race today. For over two decades, the brand has partnered with the Mille Miglia — the car race that takes drivers from Brescia to Rome and back — to design a men’s watch for the competition. The new style has a pink varnished dial and rubber strap featuring a tyre-tread motif, a steel case identical in size to its male counterpart and the red and white arrow-shaped emblem of the competition. Only 1,000 of the timepieces were made, as well as an even more limited-edition, 250-piece version with a diamond-set bezel.
