BEST IN SHOW: “Chrisley Knows Best” viewers found Todd Chrisley and his daughter Savannah at Nicole Miller’s fashion show Friday. But the reality stars were also in New York for another fashion pursuit — Savannah Chrisley is developing a signature fashion line with HSN for next year.
“I love fashion. Growing up, watching my dad love it so much is what inspired me,” she said. “We’ve wanted it for a while and now we’ve actually got the courage to go for it. And it will work.”
The younger Chrisley said that another HSN designer, Giuliana Rancic, “has been a great mentor throughout this entire process. She has helped us get in touch with all the right people.”
The 19-year-old said, “The trickiest part is that with my generation, we love instant gratification so the fact that it takes a lot of work and a lot of time to evolve, has been the hardest thing.”
“Patience isn’t a virtue for this generation,” her father offered. “I feel that fashion is a way that every individual can truly express themselves independently.”
Another reality star at Miller’s show, “Bachelorette” star Andi Dorfman, is working on a different kind of independence. The “It’s Not Okay” author is “exploring being single and what it means to be independent” for her next book.
“I picked up and moved to New York with two suitcases — not knowing anybody. I’ve been here for a year and a half and I’ve learned a lot,” she said. “The best part, and the scariest part, is that when you’re single at a certain age, I think you find out actually who you are as a person. I don’t think you ever do until you’re independent and it’s just yourself surviving on your own.”
Strangers, however, tend to have other ideas for her. “People tend to pawn their brothers, cousins and sons off on me all the time — ‘I’ve got a great guy for you to meet,’” she said.
