OSCARS WILD: Don’t expect any fashion surprises from Charlize Theron on Oscar night. The actress, who has a promotional deal with Christian Dior, left little room for doubt about her brand of choice. “Take an educated guess,” she quipped backstage after the Dior show, flanked by Bernard Arnault and John Galliano.
Theron, who said she was heading to Los Angeles in less than 30 hours, will be clocking up her frequent flyer miles this summer. “I’d like to make it to the [FIFA World Cup] kick off in South Africa,” she said, adding that she would start filming “Fury Road,” a Mad Max revamp, in Australia in June. Meanwhile, turns out that Arnault is also quite the jokester. “He was teasing me about how John [Galliano] would take his bow.
Apparently there’s something new every time,” reported Christine Lagarde, France’s finance minister, posing for snapshot with Christian Estrosi, France’s minister of industry. “Dior’s a very important contributor
to foreign trade,” she added.
Tod’s boss Diego Della Valle also took in the show, accompanied by his 20-year-old niece, Antonia. Jared Leto showed off a photo of Italian Vogue’s Anna Piaggi that he had snapped on his way in. “Do you know who she is?” he asked.
The singer and actor said that after the show, he was heading straight to Bercy stadium, where he was performing that evening with his band 30 Seconds To Mars on the Paris leg of their European tour. “It’s going really well. We just played Wembley Arena, which was sold out. It was an amazing, magical night,” he said.
Estelle Lefebure was getting ready to fly to Spain, where she is shooting a 14-page spread for Spanish Vogue. The French model and actress has added fashion designer to her resumé – she just presented the third collection for Glambition by Estelle, focusing mainly on cashmere and Lurex ponchos.
