Christian Louboutin’s London Exhibit

The show will explore “20 years of shoe design and inspiration,” London’s Design Museum said.

LOUBOUTIN’S LONDON EXHIBIT: While he’s long been a favorite of the fashion world, Christian Louboutin is set to be feted by the design community this spring. In March, London’s Design Museum will launch an exhibition dedicated to Louboutin’s creations, entitled “Christian Louboutin.” The show will explore “20 years of shoe design and inspiration,” the museum said, and will spotlight shoes inspired by everything from “fantasy and fairy tale” through to “landscape and travel.” There will also be a section dedicated to the shoes that Louboutin created for the Paris exhibition “Fetish” in 2007, which featured images shot by David Lynch of a number of one-off designs fashioned by Louboutin. And the museum noted that the “core” of the exhibition will be an exploration of Louboutin’s design process, “from the initial drawing and first prototype through to production in the factory.” The exhibition runs from March 28 through July 1.
