LIGHTS, CAMERA, MOISTURIZE: The Clinique division of the Estée Lauder Cos. has embarked on a marketing project exploring the video possibilities of making some form of a documentary to mark the brand’s 50th anniversary in 2018. “Clinique is looking to celebrate its anniversary and it is searching for content to tell the story,” said the Clinique spokeswoman, who was responding to market speculation. She stressed that the subject will not be the Lauder family and the project’s final form has not been decided, although it presumably will involve digital story telling and social media.
“We have until 2018 to figure out what shape it will take,” she said, adding that top production talent has been hired, as in virtually every other Lauder project.
Perhaps that is why the rumor mill has churned out references to “Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf Goodman,” a documentary based on the fashion store’s 111th anniversary.
