Danielle Sherman has resigned as creative director of Edun, a role she held for three years, to pursue other opportunities. She joined the label in 2013 from Alexander Wang, revived it with a modern, clean aesthetic and saw the percentage of the collection produced in Africa increase to over 95 percent. Ali Hewson founded the collection in 2005 with her husband Bono with a mission to produce and source in Africa. In 2009, LVMH invested in the company.

In a statement, Hewson said, “What Edun has achieved over the past three years represents an important step, with a new vocabulary and a real dynamic for the future. I am very grateful to Danielle for her valuable contribution, and for elevating the conversation about ethical fashion.” In terms of a replacement for Sherman, the company is looking for a new creative organization.
