DASH FOR CASH: Thirty-five cars, four days, four countries, 1,400 miles — and 70 women ready to burn rubber: The Cash & Rocket charity motor tour is back for the third consecutive year, and riders include Maria Grazia Chiuri, Chloe Green, Averyl Oates and Franca Sozzani. The tour takes off from Venice on Friday at 7:30 a.m., and participants have already broken last year’s record, raising more than $485,347, with Green among the top money generators.
On Friday the women — who travel in pairs in red cars of their own, or ones loaned by Maserati and Ferrari — will leave for Geneva, and over the weekend will drive to Paris and finally London, with evening events planned in each city. In Paris, the 35 cars will roar into Place Vendôme, where Valentino plans to host a party.

The money raised will be distributed among three charities, all of which benefit women, children and young people in Africa. The charities are Sumbandila, Shine On Sierra Leone and OrphanAid Africa, all of which are run by women.
Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli, Valentino’s creative directors, have designed a capsule collection called Rouge Absolute Signature and other products, and 20 percent of proceeds from their sale will benefit the charities. “Pierpaolo and I have five children between us, and we want what is best for them. Every family wants what is best for their children — and it’s the same in Africa,” said Chiuri, who took part for the first time last year. “It wasn’t a good time — we had the fashion show coming up — but it was my daughter who was the key. She encouraged me to do it.”
