Diego Della Valle Resigns From Generali Board

Tod’s chief stepped down in protest against the ousting of Generali ceo Giovanni Perissinotto.

PROTEST MARCH: Tod’s chief Diego Della Valle has a finger in many pies of the Italian business world. When an extraordinary board meeting of giant insurance company Assicurazioni Generali on June 2 ousted longtime chief executive officer Giovanni Perissinotto, Della Valle, himself a board member, immediately voiced his displeasure and announced that he would resign in protest. “Everything could have been handled much better, preserving the image of the company and above all of our country, which in times like these needs to attract investors and not worry them,” he told the Italian press. A spokeswoman confirmed today that Della Valle’s resignation was official as of Tuesday night.
