Bloomingdale’s Launches Denim Seeker Tool in Stores

As part of a pilot program, the tool is featured on 32-inch vertical touch screens in the women’s denim departments at select stores.

DENIM SEEKER: Bloomingdale’s has brought a bit of its online denim experience to five stores. It’s “denim seeker” tool, geared to help shoppers find the best-fitting jean, was launched on in March 2011. Now, in a pilot program, it has emerged on 32-inch vertical touch screens in the women’s denim departments at Bloomingdale’s stores in Aventura, Fla.; Century City, Calif.; Short Hills, N.J., and SoHo and White Plains, N.Y. Denim seeker provides a glossary of denim terms, opinions on fits and brands from women of varying body types, and suggests five universal jeans that look good on different body types.

The tool asks shoppers to select their body type, then provides recommendations based on what’s available in the store. “Following the success of our online denim seeker, we’re excited to provide the same product recommendations in store to help our customers find the right denim for their body type,” said Anne Bridges, senior vice president. “Launching the denim seeker touch screen is part of our ongoing strategy to integrate technology into the stores to improve our customers’ shopping experience.”
