DESIGNER DEEDS: Dress for Success’ second annual Shop for Success event will open tonight with a VIP event at Manhattan’s Metropolitan Pavilion. Hosted by Young Executives for Success, a volunteer branch of the nonprofit, the two-day shopping event will offer access to discounted wares from Oscar de la Renta, Theory and Rebecca Taylor, among others. In addition to the shopping, the event will feature makeup touch-ups by Bobbi Brown artists and personalized shopping tips from on-site stylists.
The host committee for the opening festivities includes Rachel Roy, Bobbi Brown and Gilt Groupe founder and chief merchandising officer Alexandra Wilkis Wilson.

Roy jumped on the chance to partake in this year’s inaugural celebrity host committee.
“Having a job is the biggest independence, I think, [that] women can have,” the designer said. “Giving women the tools to look and feel great about themselves while they are interviewing for jobs is so important.”
Brown, a Dress for Success board member since 2006, has seen her involvement with the charity grow more hands-on over the past few years. “I actually hired a Dress for Success client on the spot when I met her in 2010,” the cosmetics magnate wrote. “She currently works in our New York City office with our artistry team.”
The two-day event opens to the public today at 1 p.m., and will continue through Saturday evening.
