GUYS AND DOLLS: Catching the attention of those whizzing to fashion shows around town in Milan, “The Wall of Dolls” was set up to highlight and condemn violence against women. Fifty international fashion brands and designers, including, Eva Cavalli, Ermanno Scervino, Missoni, Etro and Trussardi, agreed to participate in the project with human right association Intervita and other nonprofit organizations, creating dolls to be exposed on a wall of the Cultural Center on Via de Amicis. The installation is also open to anyone who wants to add a doll.
Italian journalist Jo Squillo, creator of the event with other Italian celebrities, journalists and writers, said the decision to set up the wall during men’s fashion week was meant to raise awareness among men. The wall is to travel to other Italian and European cities. The initiative was included on the calendar of the Italian Chamber of Fashion with the patronage of the Milan municipality.
