DVF TAKES TO THE MET: To launch the second season of “The Atelier With Alina Cho,” the journalist has cued up Diane von Furstenberg for a question-and-answer session at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Dec. 2.
Founder and chairman of the signature company she started in 1970 and currently chairman of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, von Furstenberg also was among Time’s 100 Most Influential People for 2015, and published a memoir, “The Woman I Wanted to Be,” last year. There will no doubt be some at the Met event who know von Furstenberg from her role on the E! Series “House of DVF.”
After discussing her career, the industry and her message of empowerment, von Furstenberg plans to linger to sign copies of her book.
Cho is a former CNN national correspondent and host of “Fashion: Backstage Pass,” and the first season of her Q&As at the Met included Anna Wintour, Donatella Versace and Alber Elbaz. The Atelier is a branch of the 2015-16 season of Met Museum Presents, a live arts series that spotlights conversations and performances. The ticketed Dec. 2 event will be held in the Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium.
