WORK IN PROGRESS: Dior has set back the opening of its major Beijing exhibition “Esprit Dior” at the National Museum of China for a second time, to an unspecified date in 2013. According to a source, the delay is due to the addition of original works from more than one major Chinese artist that will give the exhibition “a wider dimension,” and the new time frame will depend largely on the creative process involved in producing the pieces. The exhibition was already set to be sprawling, showing off more than 100 dresses as well as accessories, fragrances, Patrick Demarchelier photos and works by Chinese contemporary artists, including Liu Jian Hua, Zhang Huan and Wen Fang. New dates should be set before the end of this year, the source said. The show was initially scheduled for Nov. 13 and had already been postponed once, to mid-December.
