“I’d love to stay and chat with you all, but I’ve got to go give Michael Douglas an award,” Sharon Stone told the gaggle of starlets assembled for Dior Beauty’s annual pre-Oscar dinner at Chateau Marmont. “There’s only so much of me to go around.”
If Tuesday was any indication, the flurry of pre-Oscar events continues here despite the economic downturn. Stone was off to the Costume Designer’s Guild Awards and a couple of London-based socials threw book parties of their own. But the Dior dinner nabbed the lion’s share of stars with Ginnifer Goodwin, Rose Byrne, Bridget Moynahan, Lucy Hale, Amber Valetta, Vinessa Shaw and Angie Harmon among the ladies getting gussied up in silk, satin and chiffon. “It’s great to attend a party for party’s sake, nothing wrong there,” said Goodwin. Of course, some, like Valetta and Moynahan, were eager to get home to their little ones after putting in appearances. “I think this is the part where I turn into a pumpkin,” said Moynahan as she made her exit.
