DOLCE VITA: Tod’s is tapping into its roots with a new coffee table book called “Italian Touch.” The volume, curated by journalist Donatalla Sartorio and shot by photographer Paolo Leone, seeks to capture the essence of tony Italian living. Many of the tanned faces featured in the book are relatively unknown but they represent successful Italians with a sophisticated sensibility, according to the leather goods house. “[The book] narrates a world of contemporary Italians and a world of values: of style, of elegance, of tradition, of culture and of evolution. These are the same values Tod’s embodies,” Tod’s president Diego Della Valle said in a statement. The Italian company is feting this month’s launch of the book with a series of events in many cities including Tokyo, Milan, Moscow, Shanghai, New Delhi and Los Angeles. For New York, Julianne Moore and Brooke Shields will host a special cocktail at the brand’s Madison Ave. flagship in New York on Sept. 22.
