DOWNING STREET SHUFFLE: “With your help, we will deliver,” said Britain’s First Lady Samantha Cameron in a rallying call to the fashion industry on Tuesday night. Cameron, who hosted a cocktail gathering for designers, editors and other industry figures at Number 10 Downing Street, said Britain had a lot to prove next year during the 2012 London Olympics. “We’ll show the world what incredible creative talent we have,” she said. Guests included Christopher Bailey, Kim Winser, Marigay McKee, Henry Holland and Wendy Dagworthy.

The event capped London Fashion Week, which kicked off on Friday, and officially ends today. Cameron, whose husband, Prime Minister David Cameron, also attended, is an ambassador for the British Fashion Council. Meanwhile, guests — many of whom had been to events at Downing Street before — could not help but marvel at their surroundings. “You can’t believe the rooms are actually this big,” said the British actor Simon Woods.
