DRAPING BEAUTY: Referencing its carefully constructed, yet dramatically draped and pleated dresses from the Forties and Fifties, Christian Dior has partnered with artist Daniel Arsham on a special window installation, which made its debut in the house’s New York boutiques Saturday.

Arsham created several fiberglass sculptures that give the appearance of elegantly wind swept, suspended white cloth draped over either a mannequin or a medallion chair, the house emblem.

Dior chose the American artist because his use of chalk-white resin sculptures “synthesizes a future civilization, symbolized by its architecture, where a cold, entropic beauty empowers nature over culture.”

The installation will be unveiled in Dior’s Paris and Milan stores in the coming weeks.
