KATE IN RED: Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge wore a glam, floor-length red gown by Beulah London to a fund-raising gala at St. James’s Palace in London Thursday night, in aid of the Child Bereavement Charity. The dress was the label’s silk jersey Sarai dress, from the brand’s spring 2011 collection, a spokeswoman for the label said. Beulah London, which launched for spring 2011, was created by Lady Natasha Rufus Isaacs (who attended the Duke and Duchess’ wedding) and Lavinia Brennan. It has a philanthropic edge — for every dress sold by the label, it gives away a canvas bag made by women in India who have been victims of trafficking. The label aims to further the women’s textile skills to give them a sustainable means of employment.
Kate attended the gala, organized by 100 Women in Hedge Funds, along with William, the Duke of Cambridge, who wore a black-tie suit. According to the organization, the event raised 675,000 pounds, or about $1.2 million, for the Child Bereavement Charity.
