Alfred Dunhill’s Tokyo Ginza store recently started up a new kimono service for men that plays on some of the house’s iconic design elements. To wit, customers can pick from Dunhill archive prints, including sketches of cars, watches and old-style games, to line their haori coats, the upper layer of the kimono set. The belted portion of the kimono, or obi, sports the Dunhill d-eight monogram. Adding to the product’s uniqueness, the kimonos were handmade using a technique dating back to 1893, the same year the company was founded. The whole package retails for about 1.2 million yen, or $11,216, and comes in a classic Japanese storage box made of paulownia wood.
