Julien Labat is taking over as chief executive officer of Edun, the label founded by Ali Hewson and her husband Bono, effect May 1. Labat, who joins from Carven, succeeds Janice Sullivan, who is leaving the company after five years in the position. She joined following LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton’s investment in Edun in 2009. Labat will report to the board of Edun Apparel Limited, the Dublin-based group holding company. His duties include overseeing global distribution, managing the mostly African-based production, and the design and production teams based in New York.
