GROWING ACCESSORIES: Emilio Pucci may be looking at expanding its leather goods business. The Florence-based fashion house has tapped Elena Ghisellini to head its handbags division under the creative direction of Peter Dundas, WWD has learned. The first fruits of the Italian designer’s collaboration with Emilio Pucci will be unveiled in January, when the company will show its pre-fall 2014 collection.
Previously, Ghisellini oversaw the leather goods division of French luxury label Givenchy, where, alongside creative director Riccardo Tisci, she designed the Nightingale and Pandora bags. In 2003, Ghisellini launched her namesake luxury bags line, which is available at a number of high-end stores worldwide, including Bergdorf Goodman in New York, Curve in Los Angeles and Galeries Lafayette in Beijing, among others.
