The agency is holding a competition in the city ahead of opening a branch there.

Elite Model Management is ramping up its profile in China ahead of opening a branch in Shanghai early next year. Seventy aspiring models from 70 different countries are currently in Shanghai for a special boot camp to prep for the modeling agency’s 28th Elite Model Look World Final competition, which will take place in the city on Dec. 6. The competition’s official website features photos of the girls taking in the local culture by practing t’ati chi in red satin pyjama suits and examining the wax figures at the Shanghai History Musuem.

Noemie Lenoir will be part of the judging panel for the event while other top models including Fei Fei Sun, Nyasha Matonhodze, Natasa Vojnovic and Magdalena Frackowiak, are tutoring the contestants.

Elite is also flying in Kylie Minogue and The Scissors Sisters to perform as part of the competition, which will be hosted by Gossip Girl’s actress Taylor Momsen.
