Farfetch Bolsters Senior Ranks

Following funding from Condé Nast International in March, the company will continue to sign key independent stores in the U.S.

FAR-REACHING FARFETCH: Farfetch continues to expand its reach in the U.S., and the online marketplace is bolstering its senior ranks.

Gabrielle de Papp, formerly vice president of corporate public relations at Neiman Marcus, will serve as senior vice president of U.S. brand development, and Roopal Patel will join the site’s US advisory board.

Following a $20 million round of funding from Condé Nast International into London-based in March, the company — which already works with more than 250 boutiques in nearly 20 counties — will continue to sign key independent stores here. There are about 60 U.S. boutiques, counting New York City’s Kirna Zabête as of this week, as well as Fivestory and Newport Beach’s A’maree’s — the latter two having launched on the site in February.

De Papp will spearhead American development of the brand via partnerships with specialty stores, public relations, marketing and strategic partnerships. She will report directly to Farfetch ceo Jose Neves, who said the biggest — and fastest-growing market — is the U.S.
