ME, MY SELFIE AND I: Prabal Gurung, Monique Péan and Creatures of the Wind designers Christopher Peters and Shane Gabier turned out to the dinner hosted by Farfetch in Paris on Monday night.
It was to mark the arrival of the DNA boutique in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Farfetch, the London-based luxury e-commerce marketplace — its first entry in the Middle East.
Other guests included London-based Mary Katrantzou, Peter Pilotto, Roksanda Ilinčić and Nicholas Kirkwood. “It is the British invasion,” joked Ilinčić.
Katrantzou pulled out her iPhone and snapped a photo of DNA owner Deena Abdulaziz, who was decked out in a long dress and a coat designed by Katrantzou. “Sometimes, on Instagram, you get people commenting on your work; sometimes it is very insightful. You get something from that interaction,” the designer explained.
Peters snapped a photo of the lavish private apartment where the dinner was held.
The Italian-French model and actress Elisa Sednaoui, wearing Haider Ackermann, Chanel and Charlotte Olympia shoes, noted that she’s started to post selfies. “I don’t have many. I am starting to do a bit more. I used to be embarrassed by the selfie. But people are interested. I do try to keep it varied; places where I am,” she said.
