RULE BRITANNIA: Le Bon Marché is celebrating its “So London” festival, championing all things British, with a little help from one of the U.K.’s foremost style ambassadors, Bryan Ferry. The singer is not only the subject of a photo and video exhibition in the basement of the Paris department store, but will perform in person at a cocktail on Sept. 5, WWD has learned. As part of the event, which runs from Aug. 28 to Oct. 15, Le Bon Marché is also hosting a show of photographs by Martin Parr focusing on the wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton. Fashion offerings include a selection of vintage clothing from Lucy in Disguise, the store launched by singer Lily Allen and her sister Sarah Owen, and men’s wear by Pretty Green, the label founded by former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher.
GREISS IS THE WORD: Among new acts lined up for Paris Fashion Week, Gabrielle Greiss, Sonia Rykiel’s former creative director, is to launch an eponymous women’s wear line, co-designed with longtime friend Annette Hultzsch, who worked beside her at Rykiel. The collection, which will be presented to buyers and press by appointment, consists of 20 dresses, with other categories due to be added later.
