SEEN BUT NOT HEARD: “She don’t want nothing to do with this,” the show security guard cried out, arms akimbo, to the throngs of camera crews and shutterbugs angling to get a shot of Demi Moore and Hilary Swank in the front row of the Miss Sixty show. Indeed, they didn’t. Moore and Swank sat in stone-cold silence as they eyed the looks on the runway. Then Clive Owen swept in — a Miss Sixty fan if ever there was one — and posed for pictures with Fern Mallis.
Meanwhile, Maggie Gyllenhaal, seated between her stylist, Leslie Fremar, and Swank, and Mischa Barton remained impressively composed throughout the madness. Gyllenhaal chatted freely about her latest ads for Agent Provocateur. “My friend told me they had great nursing bras, and I wanted to get out of the nasty ones I was wearing,” said the mother of 11-month-old Ramona. “I wanted to feel hot again.”
Barton was on a break from filming her new movie in New Jersey. “I’m incredibly lazy [about fashion week]. I haven’t been going out,” said the raven-haired actress — who was at the Van Cleef & Arpels bash Tuesday night.
TOO MANY COOKS: Before singing a few tunes after Zang Toi’s fashion show Thursday night, Patti LaBelle said, “I’ll be showing Martha Stewart and Rachael Ray a thing or two.” Her cooking DVD and The Good Life pots, pans and aprons are due out in the next few months. As it is, The Good Life’s Hot Flash hot sauce is a bestseller, said the songstress, adding: “I’m flashing now,” as a handler stood fanning her. Mention of the space’s lack of air-conditioning did not change her view. “I’d be flashing anyway.”
On another front, Lenny Kravitz is producing an upcoming album for LaBelle, an all-women act she started 40 years ago. The musician also has returned to Def Jam and is working on a Christmas album, but Wednesday’s two-song performance was less rehearsed. Asked what she planned to sing at the event, which benefited the Lance Armstrong Foundation, LaBelle said: “‘A Change Is Gonna Come.’ We need change in this world. People need to get involved with cancer research and give their time.”

HATCHER IN THE HOUSE: Teri Hatcher — clad head-to-toe in spring 2008 Badgley Mischka, naturally — held court at the designers’ Thursday afternoon show. “I’m here on behalf of the guys and our campaign together,” said Hatcher, the new face of the brand’s advertising. Clad in a silvery gray sleeveless dress, jeweled purse and stilettos, Hatcher noted she loves the brand’s unapologetic femininity: “They don’t shy away from glamour — I think sometimes we have a grunge attitude, and a lazy, casual attitude, and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with bringing a little glamour to your life once in a while. In a way, I think something great — like just a purse or a pair of shoes or a jacket — just ups your mood, and everyone deserves to have that in their closet. It doesn’t just have to be couture gowns. It can be somewhere in the middle, and I think [Mark Badgley and James Mischka] are finding that with their clothes.”
Speaking of mood-setters, Hatcher is all for the trend of celebrities launching fragrances. Does she have any interest in launching her own? “Yes, I do — but not yet,” she said. But she’s got a clear vision of how it would smell: “Citrus, cucumber — light. Nothing too crazy — I’m not a big strong-perfume person.”
Y-3’S HIGH FIVE: For Y-3’s fifth anniversary, Yohji Yamamoto and Adidas’ collaborative line will show Saturday in a West Chelsea venue constructed for the occasion. Expected guests include Samuel L. Jackson, Veronica Webb, Arden Wohl, Nina Clemente, Griffin Dunne, Jack Pierson, Paz de la Huerta, Genevieve Jones, Andres Serrano, Chiara Clemente and Waris Ahluwalia. Also to mark its anniversary, Y-3 will open its first Paris store with an in-store event Oct. 4 during Paris Fashion Week. Another opening in Miami will follow later this year.
AFTER HOURS: Couture houses are working overtime to dress society ladies for a sumptuous extravaganza taking place Saturday at Aiglemont, Prince Karim Aga Khan’s property in Chantilly, France. Le tout Paris is buzzing about the prince’s party to fete his brother Amin’s birthday, plus that of his daughter, Zara. According to sources, more than 800 guests from around the world have been invited, from Indian princesses to New York artists, as well as European aristocracy. A lavish dinner awaits, to be followed by a ball with elaborate decor, ballet performances and fireworks.
WELL SHOD: In an unusual collaboration, the Via Spiga division of Brown Shoe created a capsule collection for Bryan Bradley’s Tuleh show Sunday. “It’s like a one-off,” said Bradley. “They are sort of doing a little experiment. I don’t think they were looking to do a shoe collection for Tuleh. I’m always interested in experiments. We did one style with 10 colors — a buffed, metallic patent leather with a skinny, tall kitten heel.” If they want to sell the shoe, they can do whatever they want. For me, it was the fun of working with them. They were nervous at first, but in a good way, but I have to say it was relatively seamless.”
