Fashion Show Added to Cannes Benefit

Carine Roitfeld to curate the spectacle at the amfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS gala.

BLACK OUT: Carine Roitfeld is set to unleash some dark fashion magic on amfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS gala on May 24 at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap d’Antibes. The fund-raiser, which is considered the hottest party ticket during the Cannes International Film Festival, which kicks off today, will for the first time feature a full-scale fashion show curated by the fashion editor, based around her idea of the perfect black wardrobe. Brands contributing looks for the show include Alexander Wang, Balenciaga, Roberto Cavalli, Chanel, Christian Dior, Christopher Kane, Emilio Pucci, Fendi, Giorgio Armani, Givenchy, Louis Vuitton and Versace. The entire collection will be auctioned off as a single lot at the event, which will be presented by Bold Films, L’Oréal Paris and The Weinstein Co. and cosponsored by Chopard, Mercedes-Benz and Quintessentially.

Chairs this year include Janet Jackson, Kylie Minogue, Karl Lagerfeld, Bérénice Bejo, Ryan Kavanaugh and amfAR chairman Kenneth Cole. Super-Max will present the official after party at the hotel’s waterside Eden Roc venue.
