GOOD CAUSE: The Women for Women International Fashion Show in collaboration with Browns and Harper’s Bazaar, which aids disadvantaged women in need, was held at the residence of the Italian Ambassador in London’s Mayfair.
Hosted by Sotheby’s, the annual Swarovski-sponsored event saw Erin O’Connor, Jade Parfitt and Jacquetta Wheeler take to the catwalk for a charity runway show and auction for which dresses by Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Stella McCartney and Valentino were donated by the designers.
“We all need to help. There are many women in need all over the world,” said Angela Missoni, who donated a dress from the Spring pre-collection. She was in a festive spirit and eagerly anticipating the new year. “It will the 60th anniversary for my parents. So it’s not only a company anniversary, it’s a family anniversary. Margarita is going to be 30. It’s going to be 20 years since I’ve been together with my boyfriend. A lot of celebrations!”
Browns founder Joan Burstein told WWD how she is looking forward to a New Year initiative. “We’re doing something early on in the year with Africa,” she said. “It will be new designers from Africa. We are always looking for talent.”
