FAST TRACK: Michael Kors celebrated the official opening of its first store in Taiwan Friday afternoon with a fashion show situated above the streets of Xinyi, Taipei’s main district for high-end shopping and dining. The specially built runway inside a skywalk bridge featured local models wearing selected looks from the fall collection and was attended by Asian celebrities and VIP guests including Hong Kong actress Angelababy. The new 2,800-square-foot unit inside Taipei 101 is heavy on accessories and is part of the company’s larger five-year plan for rapid expansion in the region that was announced on Wednesday. Michael Kors chairman and chief executive officer John Idol said he hopes to open stores on the island in the future.
