Fendi Perfumes Signs Kasia Smutniak

The polish-born actress, a darling of Italian cinema who is gaining traction internationally, will be the face of the brand's new fragrance.

FENDI’S NEW GAL: Fendi Perfumes has signed Polish-born Kasia Smutniak, a darling of Italian cinema who is gaining traction internationally, as the face of its new women’s eau de parfum, which will launch in September. The name of the fragrance has not yet been revealed. Smutniak follows in the footsteps of Chiara Mastroianni, the face of Fendi’s L’Acquarossa eau de parfum and another actress with a multicultural pedigree. “We look for women with great personalities,” said Fendi chairman and chief executive officer Pietro Beccari. “[Kasia] is also very natural, which we like.”

Smutniak began her career as a model, but quickly moved on to acting. A resident of Italy since 1998, she has appeared in more than 25 movies and numerous television shows, and this year she stars in “Allacciate le cinture” by Turkish-Italian director and screenwriter Ferzan Özpetek.
